Not a story of building DIY, unless you count doing the mods to the plinth in order to enable fitment, but I installed Design, Build, Listen's "The Wand" unipivot tonearm on my Garrard 401 the other day.
Truly truly stunning upgrade, for minimal outlay. Highly recommended. I'd say it's the biggest upgrade I've made ever to my vinyl front end.
