Testing a Low MC could isolate the problem .
Maybe 1.6mV is OK , 2mV is too much ?

2mV at the input of the Paradise gives somewhat more then 2V at the output.
The only thing that goes down is overload margin. Say there is a music peak cut at plus 20dB ( x 10 ). The paradise will put out 20V but that is at the edge of what it can handle.
This will only happen on a few extreme records, say from RR or Telarc.
I whould say a cart with 2mV at 5cm-sec is the maximum i would use with the Paradise.

Zip the files nd post the ZIP

UUHH, that was difficult. But here they are. I have only 1 side (right chanal) so you hear only the voice.
"original" is the part of the grenn apple limited edition directly from apple records digial remastered
"Paradise" is the part of a MFSL Abbey Road album nearly new (one time played), Benz mirco silver 2g Tracking force, input Paradise: 2,7nF bridged with 1,2kOhm.
Do you need further information?

The tracks are very short so it is difficult to judge.

Do you mean 2.zip is a digital file ?

In the 1.zip, comming from the paradise I do not notice any "electronics nasties"... What is your TT / Arm combo ?

I would look at VTA / Antiskating / VTF.

VTA is determinant in Benz carts.

PS:
The Benz micro silver always had a somehow coarse high freq response IMO.... I sold mine because of that.

Yes you are right 1.zip is Paradise and 2.zip the digital.
My turntable is a Dual 1019, nearly original, but the tonearm is carbon.
VTA is unadjustble, it´s fixed
Antiskating is 2 as recommended with 2g tracking force.
VTF 2g
I had an tube-phono-pre before, but can´t remember any harshness like this.

But I am realy a novice in turntables so it could be a missadjusting.

Maybe your tube phono was hiding some high freq detail.... or your riaa caps are not perfectly dimensioned.

Did you measure the riaa caps before building ?

What is the value of the 11nF caps ? These are the high freq cap and a very small difference from spec can cause really nasty high freq peaks.
