Default The Best cartridge for Revox B790

Hi
Please, help to choose the optimal cartridge for Revox B790.
Now I use ortofon vms20e mkii with old stylus.
I have two ways to buy new stylus or to buy new cartridge.
It is difficult to decide.
Thanks

I don't know the optimum cartridge but I can tell you what not to buy. I have a B790 and and repllaced the Ortofon cartridge with a Shure V15-V. Bad mistake. The Shure is a high inductance cartridge so you don't want a high capacity load. The revox B790 with the attached tone arm cable loads the cartridge with 250 pf of capacity. Add to that the preamp input capacity and you might have another 100-200 pf capacity. This is too much for a high inductance cartridge. If you are going to replace the cartridge, don't buy a high inductance cartridge. My revox is in the box in the basement, but if I were buying a new cartridge for it I would go for the low inductance Grado. I have no idea how the Grado would work in the Revox arm.

If you change cartridges you may need to buy the Revox cartridge mounting kit. You can find them on ebay.

Thanks for your answer.

I would like to buy Sumiko Pearl. But there is no information about load capacity in the cartridge spec.
