Tango MCT-999 MC Cartridge Step-Up Transformer Wiring Help

Could you guys tell me the best way to wire the Tango MCT-999 to eliminate hum ?

I prefer to use a wood chassis.

So pin 6, 5, and 8 are tide together ?

Not exactly only the screen S6 is connected to the chassis...

The others are RCA in and out but insulated from the chassis

Use models like those, good quality teflon insulated :

Should I connect pin 6 to the chassis of the phono pre-amp ?

Yes all together and directly connected to the chassis...

Pin 6 is the shield of the transformer.... and the screen between primary and secondary -> You must connect it to the chassis

It's to avoid incoming of RF frequencies into the chassis or the transformer.

The chassis is like a faraday cage.
