Hello all, I'm new to diyAudio.
I''ve got a Technics SL-1200MK2, i'm restoring this deck because it was in poor condition. It has an annoying fault where the Green pitch LED will not switch on when the pitch is locked (Centre of pitch slider). The pitch slider works fine and the speed remains very stable. First I've checked LED polarity and I think it's ok, with negative lead towards the pitch fader. But for some reason, I always have +5V in both leads of the LED, no matter the fader position. I repeat, the pitch slider works fine and the speed remains very stable. Any ideas? Thank you! Guillermo |

There is an extra contact for center position inside the pitchpot. Open it and look or measure for breaks in the conductive tracks. Sometimes you can fix this with silver paint. Or the zero-slider is simply bent, oxidized or dirty.
