Default Looking for a decent turntable to match a yamaha amp?

Hi all,
I recently bought a yamaha A-S500 amp and a CD-S300 cd player and love them. The sound is fantastic, much better than the cambridge audio it replaced and the sony before that. Now I'm looking for a turntable to add to my system. I'm currently using the inbuilt phono pre-amp with a technics linear tracking table and, while it doesn't sound too bad, I'm getting the "bump" sound that some linear tracking decks make when they move the arm along, and there's something about the sound that i dont' like, though I can't figure out what it is. So, my question is - what turntables do people recommend that I can buy for relatively cheap in the UK?
I want to get the best sound possible for under £300. I don't need usb or anything like that, am just looking for a basic turntable.
any suggestions/thoughts/experiences would be much appreciated!

Hi,

My local used hifi emporium has a Systendek IIX fitted with a Linn LVX+
arm fitted with a good Goldring MM, 1012GX I think, for £220. Not bad .....

Given a new 1012GX is £200 (cartridges are ridiculous rip-off nowadays)

rgds, sreten.
