These turntables sometimes get wonky on the automatic functions. Jerky motion of the tonearm.
Mine suffers from that. And other stuff. I've done this so far: 1) I consulted the manual for the X6/X7 2) I cleaned, de-gunked. 3) Fixed a little selector switch lever that always breaks on these. I re-attached selector linkages (supposedly correct). 4) Bearings on the tonearm seem fine. 5) When you turn the platter by hand, the mechanisms seem basically OK such as the cueing rest drops as it should for play. Still, my tonearm is being impededed/blocked by poor setup of something. I don't think the two parts attached to it are on correct. Something is not set up right on this. I'd like to have some one take a photo of theirs and forward it to me. With the tonearm on its rest after it has finished cycling in automatic. Then, click selector to manual mode. And after turn off the power. That way I can have a basis to adjust mine. I will try posting photos of the way mine is now. I suspect the white "brake drum" and the little black lever with a hook on the end and attached to a spring are not positioned properly. Please send photos! To my hotmail address: ms_williams@hotmail.com Thanks, Mark B |
