Default Rewiring a zeta tonearm

I am trying to rewire my zeta tonearm. I have come across a potential problem with how to get the 5 pin plug out of the column. I have taken the grub screw out that holds it and the plug rotates freely but does not want to come out.

If anybody has rewired one, how do i get this plug out? I have been thinking i may have to drill it out, but would rather use a more gentle approach, that has a lower risk of damaging the arm.

Default Zeta rewire

Hi,
I does not come out because the ground wire at the cartridge area is screw around a special tiny round screw to the tube end of the Zeta... I did rewired mine with Incognito Rega rewire kit with outstanding result. The Incognito kit fits perfectly inside the Zeta pillar (din place) although it needed a shorter screw that keep the new Incognito round base (din) inside the pillar. Great sound and a relatively easy job (compare to a Syrinx or a Rega tonearm). All I have to do, is cut the wires at the din area, solder the new wires to the old one (new cartridge end wires of Incognito) and than pull the old wires coming out from the tube tonearm until I see the new incognito wires. Don't forget to solder thin wire at the old cartridge wires end (without clips...), around 3 inch long should be enough. If ever you have a problem, you will be able to pull back the original cable.

Hey, forget to tell you that you will need to solder a wire to the ground one already in place inside your Zeta. One at the cartridge end (the one screwed around the nut) and one at the din place...just for security. Once you know that all new wires are in place, than you will be able to unsoldered those extra lenght of wires. Hope you did understand the processus.

thanks for that it. What the problem ( my stupidity) was is i did not realize it unscrewed. All sorted now, just got to decide which tone arm wire to use. The latest Cardas looks a bit thick for my liking (0.6mm dia), i have trying to find how thick the discovery wire is.
