Going from WCLV to Mike Trivissono is definitely a non-sequitur!

If you come to Chicago, try WFMT(98.7). Mostly classical music. What I love is that they don't compress the dynamic range on the radio. During quiet passages, it's dead quiet and loud when it should be. They pretty much use the best possible equipment to produce their signal. Also available streaming on the web in MP3 or AAC+.

If your are interested in pipe organ music, catch Pipedreams on WFMT and I assume elsewhere. See their schedule for times. Some of the best pipe organs in the US-Midwest played by some of the best organists. This comes out of National Public Radio. Kind of the "Prairie Home Companion" for organ geeks. Available in HD radio all over the USA.

It was a sad day for New York when WNCN went off the air.
Indeed. However, I was raised on WQXR and feel a special pain for their current state.
