Hey guys I'm looking for a service manual and owner manual for a Sony TC-355 reel to reel machine. I got one from a friend but I want to clean it up and use it but I'm not sure where to start how to thread the tape nothing I'm a complete noob at this stuff.
Also when I do turn it on and turn the lever forward or reverse the spindles move for a second then stop any help or pointing me in the right direction would be a huge help. looked every where for answers and nothing comes up. Thanks! |

I've got both a TC355 and a manual. The tape goes straight from left outside to right outside over the head, counterclockwise. The pinch roller jumps up at the head when you turn it to play. Getting the rubber parts in a TC355 is the problem. I've quit using mine, and my TC 366 which has almost no hours on it. There are some rubber pinch stuff and fabric drag parts that are not designed to last the ages.
Don't have a scanner and I won't pay postage to tumbuctu; if you are domestic update your profile to show location and send me a mailing address in a PM.

It will be a couple of weeks before I walk over to the copy shop. Sewer bill is due the 10th, copy shop is over by city hall. Too far off the bus line to be in my normal circuit. Got your street address.

I owned a TC-377 which I believe is identical apart from the outside appearance. I still have the SM somewhere, but you can find it also here:
