Thumbs up Is it worth it?

Came across a Pioneer PL-S40 Turntable with no needle today and they wanted a 20 for it.Direct Drive Quartz.What do you think?

If you need a cheap TT it might serve your needs. The problem is that by the time you include the expense of a new needle it's getting near a cost that would bear thinking about in terms of saving that money for something decent.

I would not put expensive cart on it, but some lower model grados ($40) or audiotechnica can be satisfying...

Either one is a pretty good punt for a budget turntable.

But with that arm probably your best bet is :
