Dual CS504 help with cartridge/head

Hello,

This is my first turntable project, I found this Dual CS504 at a garage sale for $5 but I can't or don't know what type of cartridge to get??? It's my understanding that there are supposed to be wires to attach to the cartridge and then the cartridge is to be attached (screwed) to the head. Instead this head seems to have strips or contacts for a cartridge. I've attached picks if someone could guide me to the corect type of cartridge, I can't seem to figure it out on my own. There are two screw holes on the top way back.

You're missing the plastic cartridge carrier that has the mounting holes and leads that contact that little circuit board. Go to Vinylengine and download the owners manual which will show the missing part. You can then use any standard 1/2" mount cartridge. Don't try to mess with it as is as you'll ruin it.

This is you want. If you could get a '12' series shell it WOULD work in your unit. The only difference is the 12 series had a 'wedge' look to it while yours did not. I modified a 12 series by cutting down the sides purely for cosmetic reasons.

You should be able to get one for less but there it is.
