Default My final AT-PEQ3 modification

I decided to make some further modifications to my device.

The main modification is the replacement of the operational amplifier and the replacement of polyester capacitors with 1% polypropylene capacitors. Furthermore I made some minor modifications to the supply section.

The modifications in detail:

IC1: NE5532 replaced with LME49720 from National Semiconductor
IC2: 78L15 replaced with 78L18
C18: 0.01 μF ceramic capacitor replaced with a 0.47 μF ceramic capacitor (Panasonic)
C7 and C10: replaced with WIMA 1500 pF polypropylene capacitor (1% tolerance)
C8 and C11: replaced with WIMA 4700 pF polypropylene capacitor (1% tolerance) in parallel with a 1000 pF Nichicon polyester capacitor (5% tolerance) on the solder side. Unfortunately WIMA does not manufacture 5600 pF capacitors.

I would describe the sound of this unit as open, dynamic and very analytical. Definitely not soft, but never harsh or aggressive.

Personally I am very happy with this modified unit.
