Hello,

Did you find any solution, because I have recently bought this model -as defect- and it has the same problem.
I've already found that all switch contact was oxided in the casette bay, I've cleaned all of them without any succes. Also found that the main CPU gives pulses to the CAM driving motor causing the head assembly coming up very slowly (in slight steps), after reaching the top it falls back and it starts from the begining, this happens with opened door as well. The supply voltages are all OK, no ripple. Maybe the main CPU died?
I tried with casette, it plays (I didn't listened yet), however the pulses for the CAM drive never stop so the head assembly goes up and down again but in this case much faster, it does not respond to F.Fwd, Rew buttons.
Any help and suggestions are more than welcome!
