I have a Pioneer PL-570 TT that is about 20 years old. I have just connected it after it sat in my closet for a couple of years. When I hit play the arm lefts up and the turntable starts turning. The arm moves over and lowers on the record. Within a second the arm lefts back up moves over to the post it sits on and the turntable stops. This also happens if I move it over manually. Once it is on the vinyl the arm lefts up and goes back to it's post. When I move it manually I feel a click and the arm will move back, I don't have to set it on the record for it to move back. Does anybody have any idea what I'm trying to describe or have any suggestions? Thank you
Hi,
It's hard to say what is going on with the auto mechanism or probably
the control circuits ,maybe something came loose.
Try the http://www.vinylengine.com/
Register yourself and see if there is the same Pioneer model or similiar one
to download a service manual.Or ask a question in that forum.
Good luck.
