Hi All,
I am doing a project & using RING Jewel bearings to support a moving element. Jewel Bearings fit on a shaft (with interference fit). As jewel bearing are brittle in nature, i am scared that hammering bearing on to the shaft will create cracks & bearing may ultimately break. Any suggestions or other routes to fit JEWEL in interference fit? Thanks in advance. JewAsh |

I'd not use interference fits with these, but a 0.02mm clearance and a bond like loctite glue. I would think any press fit in these would fracture the jewel.
Cheers James. |

Think about thermal dilatation too.
