Dual 505-2 questions

I have a Dual 505-2 which has seen little use for many years.

Obviously the belt need replacing although cleaning it with meths and turning it over has helped quite a bit.

Initially a loud hum would develop after perhaps 10 mins use. I cleaned the cartridge contacts and this seems to have helped.

For a while there was a slight "hot" smell in use but his seems to have largely gone.

Can anybody suggest anything else that is worth doing?

Check R1, 5,1 K / 5W!

Whereabouts are these? - I have a 505-2 too and didn't notice a circuit board when I took the top off!

My little 'fine-speed' toothed belt also broke - any easy fixes for this?

ok ...got also a dual 505 -1 ...R1 runs hot .... to very hot ...any ideas ?
