Discrete Transistor Phono Stage

This is pretty wild. Even if you don't read Japanese.

I find Japanese DIY and the rest of the DIY community exist in parallel universes, quite independent of each other. RJM Audio has been around for over a decade yet the first email I ever received from a Japanese DIYer was last week... requesting a set of Phonoclone 3 boards, ironically.

My Google search defaults to Japanese language pages by the default locale, so I tend to pick some stuff up you might not. Quit pro quo for my first Phonoclone sale into the Japanese market, here's a little taste of the domestic state of affairs.

Yeah, there is a language and cultural barrier...

The Japanese aesthetic WRT audio is rather different... and it is very difficult to get copies of Japanese mags here in the US. You can get them, but they are very expensive in single copies... ah well...

I suspect many Japanese "lurk" on english speaking audio forums...

EDIT: btw, and fwiw:

This EL34 PP amp discussion and development, also in English, is awesome and well worth the read.
