Bought myself a Dual 510, how do take apart?
Well, my girlfriend actually surprised me with a Dual 510 in mint condition, it looks like it brand new. For the $23 (17 Euro) that she paid it seems like a bargain :D The only problem was that only one channel worked, and the shaft for lifting/lowering the tone-arm was missing. One cable in one of the RCA contacts where loose, I re-soldered that and now it plays on both channel.
But, I suspect that the missing shaft is inside the player, cause something is loose when I move the player around. How do I disassemble the player? There is 5 screws in the bottom plate, but it wont come loose when I unscrew them. It seems to be some (30 or so) metal "clamps" holding the plate to the chassi. Should I remove them to? Or can I release the feather suspended player from the sub-chassi somehow? I don't want to play around to much in case I destroy something! |
look at Vinyl Engine , if nobody answers here .
