looking into an inexpensive new turntable to replace the junky direct drive i have now. does anyone have an opinion on these two tables? either would be paired with the pro-ject speed box. aesthetically i prefer the mmf even though they are extremely similar looking. room for further upgrades would be another feature to consider. any thoughts?

Since this is DIY, for less money than either the MF or Pro-ject, you could get a great Thorens TD-165. Huge amount of info on tweaking, etc. Could even get one w/ an upgraded arm.

What DD table do you have? I had a early Pro-ject unit. I was very, very unimpressed with the build quality. I'd personally go another direction.
