sanyo direct drive turntable

I have this turntable when I pick the arm to play it there is a very
loud hum that never stops, How can I stop this ?
it is direct drive meaning no belt.

Every Sanyo I had was bad for that.

If you hear the hum before putting the stylus on the record, it's magnetic pickup. Try redressing the wires.

Sony direct drives were way better designed and can be had for less than $80

Thank you for the reply, I will try that if not I will just go with the belt drive.
