Cyrus tuner circa 1990

The backlight display has gone from my cyrus tuner. On opening it up i found all the lighting tubes at the back of the display have popped. Can anyone suggest a possible repair or someone willing to do it, for a fee ofcourse. Its a bit of a bgger trying to operate it without the thing lit up. It will only operate with the remote, which is ok. Help!!!!!!

nope. i have had this tuner for many years. it belonged to my late father. it is the same model as in that ebay picture.

I could perform the appropriate service, but I would not recommend, because shipping costs from Scottland to Germany and back are to expensive.
I would ask by
http://www.bergmann-service.de/ (Cyrus service Germany)
to ordering the appropriate lighting tubes (lamp, bulb).
If this one no longer available there, ask for the nessecary voltage and try to find a replacement by rs components.
If you have this, certainly a diyaudio member in your aera comes up here to replace the devices.

Hi Cyrusnut,
I would be quite happy to do it but am based in Reading Berkshire.
What I would suggest is replacing the incandescent bulbs with Hi intensity white LEDs. pm me if interested.
