If you will replace the bearing oil clean the shaft and housing well.Start with a few drops of new oil and fit the sub platter slowly. If it goes down very easily, put a few more drops of oil, till the sub platter goes in slowly and some oil comes out of the housing. This way you'll be sure that the housing is filled completely.

I got the AT110e today, set it up and dialled it in, and it sounds great. I expect it will take a while before it settles down and the highs get a little less bright, but it already sounds great!
I filled the bearing housing with sewing machine oil, but unfortunately there is a bit of movement in the platter when it's seated. There are two nylon bushes, and I think the lower one is pretty worn out, the top one fits very snugly. I am thinking of getting a new one made. What kind of clearance should I go for around the bearing shaft? If it all costs too much, I was going to find a Thorens TD 160 in the area, and fit my Linn arm. |

Try a thicker oil.It is recommended for bearings with not so tight tolerances.
