Default Vinyl getting stuck in groove

I knocked the needle arm while a 12" was on and now the needle gets stuck in the plate's groove where it was knocked, any reccomendations for fixing it? Someone said put a penny on top to knock it through but I use it to dj and I don't want to damage it anymore!

I've fixed it with a strong magnifying glass and a pin or sewing needle. Push the wall of the groove back in place.

Crude, but it works. I'll be there will be much more elegant solutions from this crowd.
