There has been talk here & there of the rarer High Speed G36, which uses a different capstan motor: early ones with a 4/8 pole motor, and later ones with a very fat capstan. All involve a different head-block casting to accomodate the different motor position, so it is not an easy or cheap modification.
BUT... has anyone tried to up double the motor speed by running it from 100 or 120Hz ? Can the motor take this sort of treatment?
