I have accumulated the following three turntables and wanted some perspective on which one might be the best quality.
Yamaha P220 Turntable MCS 6725 Linear Tracking Turntable (I believe the was made by Technics and is comparable to their model Technics SL-J2) I have had this turntable since the early 80s. Sony PSLX250H Turntable Your input is appreciated! |

hope you didn't pay much.
The Sony is a POS imho. The Yamaha is probably better. the MCS is an unknown quantity, some were Matsushita sourced...and could ytherefore be quite good.

The Technics SL-J2 seems to be a pretty decent performer, so if the MCS is a close copy this could be your answer. The Sony seems to be a standard mass market belt drive and about the Yamaha I couldn't find anything. However the bigger brother, the Yamaha P-520 seems again to be value for the money.
You can look for more infos here http://www.vinylengine.com Have fun, Hannes

if you're happy with the MCS , just keep and use it.
I have a few Yamahas (P751, TP450, and PF1000), so I don't have anything "against" Yamaha, nor do I hate Sony... if looking for an upgrade, to the MCS, keep looking...
