Hi...I picked up a Lab-420 TT at a local thrift stor for $5.00, and it functions well but has audible rumble. I have it isolated from the rest of my audio system...could I put it on a rubber pad...would that help? Is it possible for a cartridge to go microphonic and pick up rumble? It is direct drive...could there be a problem within the drive train?

Feedback has always been a problem
Why the soft suspention was "invented"
A heavy block/shelf helps too

But rumble is a different matter

Anyway, you need a highpass subfilter ;)

If possible try to lubricate the bearing with fine oil, used fore sewing mashines
Or maybe fine teflon oil
