Default Vinyl searching?

I'm not into vinyl, but as I frequent the thrift stores, I always wonder how many treasures are in the used album cases. Is there anything in particular to look for when perusing the vinyl? I'd be willing to help a brother out if I found some sought after LP.

Not many, normally. I'm lucky if I even find '80s pop albums in good shape in a thrift store. The majority is easy listening drek, of which a small percentage is weird enough to be cool. In comparison, used record shops have extraordinarily good selections; better than almost any normal record store back in the LP days.

If you live someplace where less homogenized music shows up in thrifts, like blues, soul, jazz, especially from small local labels, you could strike gold.

Thrift stores - sally ann...

Sometimes you can be lucky - I fund a pristine 1st. canadian edition rolling stones album Nr. 1 for 1$ - never played, but minus the poster.

There were other treasures - but you count them at piece per month.

90% are as stated MOR, in bad condition.

Use reputable - ask around - second hand record stores. They have usually a very good and organized selection.
