Dp-59L tonearm wand

Okay, no-joy finding a replacement. I'm thinking of venturing into the build territory, just not sure where to start. I know the "effective length" is 244mm, but where is this measurement taken from? Then we go to materials, at this point I just want to get this thing working and have it sound decent. Aluminum, carbon fiber, wood, drinking straw, not sure what would be good for a first time build. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

See the attachment. It will help. Wood and Carbon fiber are good options.

Hi,
I have a wand from a dp-72L. Would that work on your arm?
