Vinyl to digital
Hi All
So where does my little V to D setup fit into the scheme of things?:
Recording software is Magix AudioLab/10 and an Edirol (Roland) UA-1EX soundcard.
To play vinyl, I use a Garrard 301 deck, Grace G-727 Gyro Master arm, a homebrew mc cart. The v/dH armlead goes into a Nagatron step-up transformer (or a Nagatron active s/s dc step up) and from there into the mm input of my s/s pre. And then from the pre to the Edirol's input.
This modest setup give me results far superior to any commercial CD I ever bought. I'm sure I re-capture all of vinyl's 'warmth' which my CD's lack. Replaying my CD-R's on quite modest CD players and on the system in my Laguna car, confirms to me at least, a lot of 'something' got lost during CD mastering.
