I am looking for a 60Hz motor pulley for my Thorens TD145. I moved to the USA and brought my European turntable which has the 50Hz pulley. Does anyone know where I can buy this, I tried ebay and many Google searches, but no luck so far.
Or is there anyone who moved from the US to Europe (or any other 50Hz country) who needs the 50Hz pulley and would like to swap? Any other suggestions welcome. Thank you! Lucas |

Hi Lucas
Marco is correct, get a Linn Valhalla or similar and continue to use your standard motor and pulley. You can build it into the turntable or mount it in a separate enclosure. Your turntable will sound much better too! Regards Peter |

look at the iPod drive for turntables ...would give you what you need without spending a bunch of cash.
Basically feed the turntable with a ((50/60)X120Hz)= 100Hz) AC signal from an amp that can give you the required number of Watts. (few turntables need more than 25--Garrards, etc).

make or have made a pulley.
(60Hz/50Hz) X (50 Hz pulley diameter) = (60 Hz pulley diameter required). Or check with Thorens who are now making new turntables, and may have the correct part as a service part. In a pinch you could also buy some slot car racing wheels (just the wheels). something like this
