Ricardo for R3 you suggested:

Left 45K473
Right 45K675

Salas for R3 suggested:

Left & Right 46K017

I don't know a lot of about electronics but I'm very curious, why are different values?

Salas sugestion was made before we knew about your true riaa values.

The three resistors R1 R3 and R5 interact so when you // 1M4 on the Left, you do not get only 45k473.... the riaa circuit "sees" 46k755.

If you input this value on the calculator http://www.kabusa.com/riaa.htm
you will get caps values that will sound acording to Lipshitz

For the right channel, my best bet would be // 1M9 so the final R would be 46k684.

Experiment with 2M as suggested by Salas, than finetune using lower values until you get the best results and let me know your findings.

After we set the correct values we can think about replacing with good resistors.

IMO The calculator kabusa can only be correctly used if the input resistor value is calculated acording to this formulae: R equals (R1 + R3) paralleled with R5

R =1/((1/(R1 + R3)+(1/R5))

R = 3.300+46.800 // 998.000 = 47.705

As you can see, with your actual setup R4 should be 7k
With your actual values the sound will be recessed.... You can either increase R4 or reduce R3 as I sugested before. (IMO The easier way)

Happy to know that your focus increased. With C3 at 15n6, still feeling its soft comes across a bit weird to me though. Is your load resistor a 150R Sinkoh? You can go 220R or even 330R with film resistors too. Check your loading a bit. Also your VTA.

IMO will be easy to parallel 91k (Shinkohs, Takman carbon film, Kiwame 2W & Vishay VTA55 all availables at Pcx) or 91k1 (Vishay VTA55 available at Pcx) to get 45k5 or 45k5 near the values neededs for R3 with good quality resistors, also don't mix different kind of resistors. 1M & over I usually look for at Caddock MK132 or TF-USF series but can't have these values.

Hard to find some 1M9, I get 1M4 at Mouser Xicon metal film 1% 50ppm:

Find best loading value and VTF, VTA, finish your double shunts, shorten your power out cables and add remote sensing, tweak whatever riaa with cheap resistors, before buying any final expensive components. You don't know its final tone, it isn't finished yet. Just my 2C.

Loading is ok 150R in both channels.

I agree with Salas... do not buy anything now.... first experiment with "normal" resistors until you get the good tone.

After you bypass the 47k resistors with some 1Mx, you might need to review the cap values again. (Everything will come forward... trebble.... bass... )

He will surelly have to review if he changes the 47k a bit. In general, tuning steps start after final configuration of build AND TT settings, loading. Riaa values resistor trims are initially tried with cheap components, system sensitive stuff you never know your own best before hand. In my experience most builders end up around 16n C3 indeed.
