Hi Salas

The JFETS ordered for my regulators have been shipped to me wrongly !!!
They are 2SK117-BL, not the 2SK117-GR you specify.

I am sure I already know the answer to this...but anyway...can I use any of them at all ?
I only ordered 10 as 'a test', will need eventualy 4 regs. I think ( for my friend as well ).

This is what was sent :-
12.26
11.11
11.02
10.98
10.40
9.98
9.75
9.34
9.12
8.97

No worries on the 'never ending parts hunt'...
...we nearly go 'em all.
This could be a bit of a set-back though.

I would rather 'bin' the high-current 2SK117BL's than make a 'dodgey-reg'.
What you think ?
Have got 3 @ about 9mA each.

Cheers.

Si.

BTW

' Zhoufang 's 2SK170-BL's on ammo-belt are looking more 'consistent'.
Just measuring them all ( 50 ).
They seem to be coming out at between 7-9 average ( mostly ).
Good seller to buy from, I think.

Cheers.

Si.

Hi Ricardo

Well...
...unless anyone tells me different...
...the standard PDF 'Simplistic' for Hi-MC ( Denon DL-110 ).

' The V George Experiment' not suitable, too much gain.

I like your parallel JFET variation, ' The Wallace Experiment' ?...
...but too much gain again ? You're using 0.6mV Benz.
Dunno, is it ?

Looks like 'Simplistic-Original' for me, unless any other TOP-SECRET schematics about !

Hope to have full JFET current-list, later.

Cheers.

Si.

BTW Ricardo...
...Have now found 2nd reel of resistance-wire...
...much better for very low Ohms, other stuff was better for 30-45's etc.
The resistors don't actualy NEED winding, they can be just 'nude' I think.
Minimal inductance for sure.
The 30-45's could be 'flat wound'.

Hi Space

"Normal" Simplistic uses k170BL at around 8 ~8.5mA Idss, so no GR specified.

Can you find more k170 so you can choose the correct Idss ones ?

I am using the folded cascode simplistic with a 0.8mV Benz with great success because I have a DCB1 buffer (no gain) and a low gai power amp.

WW would be nice for the 33 ~ 39r

A friend had weird problems with BL in SSLV1.1 once. Proceed with caution. If yours is gonna work stable on scope, use them.
MM and folded simplistic are difficult to go well, it would take too high a VDS with possible gate leakage problems, pronounced on MM higher Rsource. But take comfort, the SNR with DL110 and HiMC gain scheme in classic simplistic is naturally competitive to folded for MC if not better.
The folded schematic with 2x K170BL I recommended to Ricardo in lieu of K369 is near 60dB in reality, and second option to single K369BL. Very good except still wanting for low mid to bass different silicone wafer doping GR noise VS 369.
Yesterday I finished modding to folded and re installed my ref build that belongs to a friend. Awesome result. He was chuffed.

Yes.. the folded simplistic is really impressive.... now easily surpasses even the bjt build even in the bass. Much more organic

I had the opportunity to listen to it with about 0.8mV cart like yours yesterday. Only bit more pricey. Goldfinger Statement. There it really comes to full.
