Hi Salas-
Finally gathered parts for the shunt, using circuit from post #247. Shunt resistors- would using 1W for all be OK? Looking at the pics, it seems R1 is larger... Thanks- Kent |

Hi,
1/4W will do even for R1. That resistor has only 0.7V across. So it dissipates 85mW only. Don't take those pics too seriously, normally I have some fatter ones because I do tubes and point to point. Its better to have fatter around practically. If there is some real point of interest or caution, I try to note it on the schematic. Use 1W for all resistors, no problem. You can handle them better for soldering. P.S. How is your listening going up to now? Got rid of some little hum? |

I left it on and the little 9v bat's died! I didn't want to say too much on how it sounds yet- parts still settling in and no shunt yet. Needless to say I have been enjoying listening!
![]() Thx for heads up on the R's. Cool rainy night in Berkeley+solder iron in heated state+music playing= perfect night for tinkering! |

Good! We will be waiting for your pictures and review after you have listened with the shunt.

Hi guys. I haven't yet added the shunt reg, as it looks like my cartridge may be faulty! I've tried all manner of things in the TT setup, but I'm still getting sibilance.
I know it's a little o/t but does anyone have any experience of this cart?, I can't find much info on it. Cheers, Lee. |

Thanks for the reply Nicoch. Detailed is good for me, as the rest of the system is a Pedja Rogic buffer, highly modded Quad 405, and modded Jamo concerts. Plenty good enough and balanced slightly on the warm side.
The sibilance is definitely from the TT side of things as there's not a trace of it from my modded cd94 cdp. Regards, Lee. |
