Excellent choice of record pellesmil

Today for sake of experimentation i thought of adding 2 1000uf Rifa PEH169 to the PSU right after the rectifier, forming a CRC filter. 1000uf-1ohm-4700uf
I may be doing more harm than good because these caps connect to the board with wires. Havent done any serious listening session yet, and the PSU looks a bit silly

Sweet

have you settled for 1 ohm?

roughly you would have about 100mv ripple in that setup

Going to about 15 ohms decreases the ripple to aprox. 16mv

No i havent really settled to specific values, just using what i already had in hand. Salas if i increase the value of R to 15ohm , how would that affect the reg down the line?

The more Ohm the more of a time cycle the more of a filter. Slower to charge the last capacitor but cleaner. Given the draw is constant there is no dynamic current demand so it should be a positive move.

Guys, does anyone familiar or used these resistors?
Can't find any info on internet.
They are about 10-12 mm in length and 5 mm in diameter. Black glossy plastic and white-silver printing

They look like older line Vishay-Dale low ppm precision parts.
