Buying Beerings

Hello,
I read lot's of threads here about TT main beerings. I want to buy a beering, and I see that Teres seels a set for 295$. Do I have other equivalent options with the same quality?
My other option is to build something by my own, like the Altman project (http://www.altmann.haan.de/turntable/) but I am not sure if this will result in the same quality like a "commercial" beerings for TT such as the Teres.
Any help will be appriciat with many thanks!
