Default Need info on Restoration of old RCA Phono

Hello all....

I have had this RCA Victor "console" radio/turntable for years, and have finally decided to restore it, well, at least the turntable part. I have a decent mono setup documented in another couple threads here(knight schematics, and seperating integrated amps), and would like to add the turntable part of this RCA to play some of my old 78's.

I really dont know much about the RCA. The model number on the "amp" chassis is RC-605a. I was told it worked when I got it, but I just dont have the time or money to redo the whole thing.....yet.

But for now, like I said I would like to restore the turntable portion. I know a few things about "modern" turntables, but something this old is new stuff to me....so to speak. The "needle" looked like a blunt object that had obviously seen much use, it will obviously need to be replaced. The table itself has automated functions, which if I can fix it would be nice, but not a requirement. I just want it to make as good of a sound as possible.

Basically I need to know the power requirements, what sort of input "magic" I will need to get it to work with a knight kn3050 pa "preamp" with "mic" inputs(with tranformers sockets....currently empty), and where to source the needles and how to get it together........hopefully thats not too much to ask here.

I have included a few pics for those who are interested. I pulled the table out of the cabinet to start cleaning it, sorry, no before pics, but it should clean up pretty nice....... I do have the platter, but it isnt in the pics.

any comments or suggestions would be greatly suggested.....

thanks......

nate
