Default thorens td-115 isolation

Hi all,
For my first post I wanted to ask if anyone has any experience with the thorens td-115 turntable in regard to isolation. At this point I'm getting a lot of foot step noise despite what I think are adequate adjustments to the tone arm weight.

One thing I noticed is that the base of the turntable (the part that makes contact with the counter) appears to be in constant contact with the front edge of the (plinth? the part that is suspended on springs). The rear edge is not in contact with the base. I wondered if the fact that these two are touching could make it so that all vibrations are carried up through the base and on to the plinth because they are directly in contact at the front edge. Are there any of you out there that have this particular table or who have more general advice regarding isolation? If a photo is necessary I can provide that too.

(I apologize for the unusual naming convention of the turntable parts but couldn't find the exact terminology in a search).

Thanks for any advice
