sounds like a kettle boiling to me... ,
Remember the 'Mythbusters' episode where they tried to re-create sound from ancient pottery??, perhaps this technology has an application there...

Impedance varies with frequency, use impedance plots of your drivers and make crossover calculations using the actual impedance of the driver at the crossover frequency
