All carbon fiber brushes molt a bit - I am not crazy about them and don’t like pieces of carbon fiber in grooves. I made the brush for washing LPs where broken carbon fibers are not a problem as everything is sacked out by vacuum. I use the brush to spread RRL Super Vinyl Wash which dos not easily wet the surface of LPs but it has nice lubricating properties.
The brush is made of left over materials:
1/16x3/8x3/8” Aluminum channel molding screwed to oak handle
1/8” thick foamy plastic from window blinds
1/16” thick spongy double faced glue tape
carbon fiber roving (bundle)
I glued a double tape to 2 pieces of plastic 1/8x3/8x4-1/2”. I put 2” long pieces of carbon roving across the tape and covered it with the second strip. It formed a sandwich: plastic –tape – fibers – tape – plastic. I cut off the fiber on one side and pushed the sandwich into the channel. I then trimmed the fiber on the other side to 3/8 of an inch.
I did not use any resin to secure the fibers as it would penetrate too far into the fibers and glue the whole length together!
The brush is for wet application so single row of fibers is an advantage (as opposed to two rows in commercial brushes).

I heard that DD micro fiber brushes are the best. I will make one and try it. DD also sells nice generic $10 carbon brushes for $18.
For Vinyl-Zyme fluid VPI brush is OK. The brush came free with record cleaning machine, a bottle of enzyme concentrate was free with TT package.
For final rinse my DIY brush is better as it pushes the high tension RRL fluid into grooves without wasting a lot of fluid that soaks the brush.
