I have a pair of altec 1579As, and doing a bit of research online came to this site:

Unfortunately, I don't know any japanese. Can anyone shed some light on it?

So, anyone has an idea what the circuits are? How many volts are needed etc..?

1597B/C Equalized Preamplifier
Converts most Altec mixer inputs to accept magnetic phono input. Equalized to meet RIAA standards.

So looks like my units are 1597B and not 1579A (which is the code for the monitor panel).
