Rewire a Syrinx PU2

I have rewired my PU2 last year for a Decca cart.
I had to take out the bearings to get the new wires in,
and you will need a lot of patience with the re-adjustment.
It took me several days to set them right again.

What cart is playing in your arm ?

KaDe,
My hats is off to you!

I love the sound of the PU2 and have one in a box for 15 years now, but haven't taken the steps to set it up because of the EXTREME hassle of getting all three planes of alignment correct with just one set of adjusting screws. A quick trip to madness I believe!

And you replace the wiring AND run a Decca to boot - You must be seriously crazy - and that's a compliment from me!

Thanks Allan,
all your words are so very very true........
But it´s worth the effort, take out your Syrinx and play it !
- if someone is familiar with the PU2 design pitfalls he should be able to replace the wiring as well -

The Decca was an adventure to me since it has been sitting in his box fo more than ten years.
I want to try a more decent sounding cart. in my PU2 now.

> can someone help me out with a " heavy counterweight " ? <

Greetings
Klaus

thanks Guys for your replies.

The quote I had was from Audio Origamy.

Looks now, like it would be money well spent.

The arm sits on an LP12 and use to have a Linn Asaka Cartridge.

The moving coil got damaged - stylus got caught with something.

So I will be looking at a new cartridge once the new wires are in place.

once the new wires are in place.......

........ you need a position mark for the wire breach in the spindle.
This mark later has to point to the middle of the groove area,
but they should know about this at Origamy.

Good Luck !
