TT advice???

I am a new member and relatively new to audio. I currently have a rega P3 with a RB300 arm...but want to upgrade. I don't want to go to weebay to find one! I have about £700 - £1000 to invest and don't mind a good 2nd hand deck.....either private sale or trader. Problem is I don't know what to get. I have been to retailers and looked in mags but would like advice.

How about a good Thorens TD124 Mk 2 from a reputable dealer?
To get the same build quailty and sound in a new TT would cost several thousands.

My advice would be to start going to dealers that sell turntables and start listening. That kind of money should be invested wisely in something that you're going to want around for a long time.

My favorite site for reviews? Highly controversial, and very opinionated? Arthur Salvatore fits the bill. 6moons isn't bad either, a lot of mention of smaller manufacturers, but a bit too "wordy" for me.
