got this from a pile of cartridges
mono. might be an early VR or MC cartridge but I am not sure. cantilever is snapped off when I got it. so no stylus cantilever might be made of nylon. heavy! weighs like little herceles. I wonder if this stylus is replacable? |

I'd contact Grado directly, they will probably be able to answer your question, and advise as to the possibility of replacing the stylus. I suspect it is a very early model.. (Late 1950's?) I've had a number of Grados, indeed I am still using one to this day, (the 8MR) but I've not seen one quite like that one.

High fidelity Magazine Jan 58 page 122.
Announcing....The Grado Constant Impedance Moving Coil Cartridge $45.00 looks like the stylus is broken off in the picture you posted. Electrovoice aftermarket stylus book doesn't show a replacement. Mark |
