Hi,
A friend has experienced trouble with the motor on his systemdek with it randomly reversing its direction of rotation on start up. Can anyone hazard a guess at the cause? I wonder if the phase shift capacitor in the AC motor power supply has failed? Thought I would ask for inspiration before opening the thing up. Regards, Rob. |

Definitely the first thing I would consider and the most likely and also the cheapest, you will want the same value - read it off the old capacitor and sufficient voltage capacity to take mains voltage.

Yes, try the phase shift cap - I had exactly this problem in my ariston TT until I discovered I made a boo boo in wiring the caps in place. The motor may also appear to find it hard to get going.
