Default DIY Turntable

Where can I purchase a prefabbed platter? Like acrylic or composite or something? And pretty thick like 3inches or so would be nice. I can't seem to find much I find things in posts but the company no longer has the platter there and what not.

I found one on EBay but its 1.5" thick. Thats still pretty thick and may work. They also have the bearing assembly available for it. Its from Hong Kong though.

Hmm noone? How about anyone here that has made one or turned one or formed one. Would anyone be willing to do one for me for a price?

Why don't you try your local window shop/glazier?
They will probably be able to make you a glass or acrylic platter.
Any local woodworker/furniture maker should be able to cut you some wood.
Have you tried your local telephone directory?

Regards,
Martin

Well here in Pittsburgh really isn't a lot of little woodworking places around. In fact the only thing I know of around here is WoodCraft. As for glass places... Its about the same but I'll look around.

diyhifisupply sell the platters and bearings for their TT separately. I checked a while back and the platter was $100, the bearing $80.

Hello,
A few years ago Scheu did made this platter for me. A bigger diameter but because of the smaller upper part still ready to be used with a standard arm.It is a one piece made to measure design but they have some choices that will give you close to what you are searching for. Use google for Scheu and you will be directed to their site. Eduard. P.s weight just under 13 kilogram
