Sorry nanook, your right there. I don't think it started that way but all subsequent posts have been regarding Linn power supplies. The pulley is press fitted on the LP-12 motor. It's hard to get it off and on without the proper tools without risk of damage to the motor.
If you are requiring a power supply for a different table that was using standard out of the wall AC power then the Armageddon ps is definitely a suitable option. The Armageddon uses a pretty large toroid transformer for isolation, something like 500VA. Those don't come cheap. Not sure how small you could get away with and still get the same effect.
