line level modular mixer?
New to DIY. Want to create a fully functional line level mixer using a ready made cheap chassis (gutted behringer or something). Wouldn't mind terribly making my own eq/dynamic sections but also would be nice to use ready made modular units to drop into chassis. By fully functional think any popular live sound board with routing to multi-busses, auxes, etc.

Anything like this out there or mentioned before?

Point is to use higher quality external preamps with a high quality 24 ch line level mixer. Can only find 8 channel line level mixers on market. Anything close to 24 has mic pres. Waste of money and to get quality I'm looking for would be tens of thousands of dollars.

It would be a big project for a beginner but fun and when finished very useful to me. Thanks.
