I have a satellite receiver that seems to output a signal that is lower than my other devices on my stereo. What would be the easiest way to amplify the line level ouputs from the satellite to the inputs of the stereo ?
I can build almost any circuit, just can't design them ![]() Would prefer something that uses generic parts rather than something that has to be ordered. Thanks |

Hi,
probably a simple dual op-amp (TLO72 ?) signal booster wired into your satellite reciever. Selection of op-amp depends on the power rails in the satellite reciever. The actual circuit would be a simple AC coupled gain stage. you can find many examples of thse on the internet. /sreten.

Hi,
TL072 will just about do the job, but it does not drive capacitive loads at all well. The interconnect cable could add 20pF to 200pF across the load impedance. Try using an NE5532 (5534 needs Ccomp or gain>5) which can drive these loads cheaply. Now available as SMD. There are many other cheap and expensive ones but you would need to read the datasheets carefully to try to extract the pitfalls of each. Try ESP site for a circuit board and schematic. Are you looking for times 2 (+6db) or times 4 (+12db) gain? or something a lot higher?
