The thing is, you can produce high quality products all over the world. But you can also produce crap all over the world, no matter where it is. And you can get a great product with 'monday assembly quality'. No matter what you buy, who manufactured it or where it has been built, there is always a chance you get a faulty one. Ofcourse there are bad designs, designs that fail under certain circumstances and bad assemblies. I think that is an issue that only shows up after a certain time of use and that might not been obvious at the first tests.

However, that seems not to be a likely thing to happen once there's been a fault in the power supply. That's not a thing which can be caused by such an issue. Either it has been a problem before (and has been ignored) or there's something else broken but there's no way the power supply could have caused that in any way.
